Call for Papers: ICMSAO 2011 @ Kuala Lumpur

For those of you who are interested to submit your scientific work and attend a conference on Modeling, Simulation and Applied Optimization, you might want to read the information below. Please note that you have only 1 month more to submit your manuscript. Please visit the conference website to read the details.

Besides that, UTM Process Systems Engineering Centre (PROSPECT) will organize a 2 days pre-conference workshop in conjunction with ICMSAO 2011. The workshop introduces the concepts, methods, tools and software involved in sustainable product and process design and development. These methods and tools assist process engineers in the decision making to generate, evaluate and identify candidate products and their sustainable design alternatives in a systematic and efficient manner.

You can download the brochure of the workshop here and register here.

ESCAPE 2010, Italy

ESCAPE is the European Symposium on Computer Aided Process Engineering and it is an annual conference where many PhD students from CAPEC will be participating. This year many of my colleagues will be attending this conference. But I will attend the PPEPPD 2010 conference in China as it is more close to the area that I'm working with and the fact that it is once in 3 years. Actually the due date for the abstract submission of this conference was last July 2009. Anyway I just want to promote to those who are working in the area of Computer Aided Process Engineering in case if you are interested to join next year.
About ESCAPE Conference Series

ESCAPE-20 is the 43rd event of the CAPE Working Party, which will be held in Ischia, Italy from June 6 to 9, 2010. The most recent symposia were organized in Romania, Bucharest 2007 (ESCAPE 17), France, Lyon 2008 (ESCAPE-18) and Poland, Cracow 2009 (ESCAPE-19). ESCAPE-20 is organized by AIDIC, the Italian Association of Chemical Engineering, a member society of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering. The series serves as a forum for engineers, scientists, researchers, managers and students from academia and industry to present and discuss progress being made in the area of CAPE. CAPE refers to computer aided methods, algorithms and techniques related to process and product engineering. The ESCAPE-20 scientific program reflects strategic complementary objectives of the CAPE Working Party: to check the status of historically consolidated topics by means of their industrial application and to evaluate their emerging issues. New windows will be open to the CAPE audience by inviting adjacent research areas to co-operate in the creation of the technical program.

Formats & Topics

The whole set of themes for ESCAPE-20 cover the usual scope of ESCAPE conferences, from off-line design to on-line systems, including numerical and computational methods, integrated and multiscale modelling and new opportunities. ESCAPE-20 will include a rich programme of guest speeches and keynote talks from leaders in science and industry.

1- Fundamental in Computational & Numerical methods

Software Architectures and Computing Frameworks for CAPE Parallel, Distributed and Grid Applications Large Scale Systems: Algebraic, DAE, PDAE Nonlinear, Mixed-Integer, Stochastic Programming Multi-Objective, Multiperiod, Global Optimization

2- CAPE and Society

Loss prevention, Safety promotion, Sustainability, Environmental protection, Energy saving, Emission detections: odour, noises, particulate matter

3- Off-line Systems

Integrated Product and Process Design, Integrated multi scale Modelling and Simulation, Process intensification and costs reduction, Business decision support and business globalisation

4- On-line Systems

Optimization and Optimal Process Control and Operations, Process Dynamics, Industrial Applications and Case Studies

5- CAPE and new opportunities

Call For Papers: PPEPPD 2010 Conference

General Information

Conference: 12 th International Conference on Properties and Phase Equilibria for Product and Process Design (PPEPPD 2010)
Date: 16 - 21 May 2009
Venue: Suzhou, Jiangsu, China

Scope of Conference

The conference endeavors to provide an effective forum for academic and industrial researchers to meet and communicate on the status and future trends in properties and phase equilibria important to the design of products or processes. Multi-scale simulation, interface confined behaviors are continuous basic issues. Nonequilibrium thermodynamics (including reaction, transportation) plays important role. Thermodynamics is still the main source of inspiration. Manipulating biomolecules, design and development of pharmaceuticals, nanoengineering and nanotechnology, foundations of equilibrium thermodynamics, innovation in product design and development will still be included in themes. The focus is on products and processes related not only to the traditional oil, gas and chemical industries, but also to the pharmaceutical, food, plastics, textile and cement industries. Moreover, biotechnology, energy, environmental and sustainable development technologies are important topics of the conference.
